Lake Mirror Classic Car Show
Hello, to all Current and former members of Galaxieland (& previously Galaxieland Southeast) Chapter of the Ford Galaxie Club of America. In celebration of the 10th Year of our Florida Chapter, you are invited to come and attend this event in conjunction with the Annual Lake Mirror Classic Car Show in Lakeland Florida.
If you still own a Galaxie or not, we invite you, to come and attend this wonderful event. We believe this is one of the best, if not the best event in Florida. It is by far the best organized and planned event we have ever attended. If you have been there, we believe you will agree.
If you have never attended, you will be in for one big surprise and enjoyable weekend.
Registration is now open for this event. Please go to the link below to fill out the online registration form. Preregistration is $40.00 if mailed in (or $45.00 if filled out online). After Oct. 1st it will be $ 50.00, so the sooner you get registered the better. They will be allowing us to park on one of the many streets as a club. Many Florida Car Clubs now use this event to schedule their annual meet events.
They tell you what time to be at your gate to park, (don’t show up early) but show up on time. They then move on to the next gate to park those cars. With over 500 cars showing up last year, these folks know what they are doing. Can’t park everyone at the same time, so it is important to know when to show and where to show, but they will include that with you event information when they send your event information. We will meet at the hotel and leave the hotel together, to allow us all to park in the same area lot. to you.

For your $ 40.00 you are going to receive a very attractive sign (shown above from last year show) that can be used for many years while you attend other local car shows. You are allowed up to 75 words to describe you Galaxie, in your own words of course.
The sign does not included the Blue Ford Oval decal, (I purchased that from AutoKrafters and installed it myself).
You also get 2 tickets for selected lunches at one of a few local businesses to enjoy.
Free events begin on Friday night; we are planning a get together for Friday night at this event. The main event is on sat. all day. It concludes with a Sunday Morning Road Rally and brunch for those that wish to stick around and enjoy.
This event covers some 16 blocks of downtown Lakeland and draws over 35,000 spectators.
After you have completed your online registration, please look at their home page, the event page, the schedule and the gallery of pictures of past events. We believe you will be impressed with what is planned. You can save their web site to your favorites, so you can check back often for updates.
Also, advise us at Galaxieland@msn.comif you are able to attend, so we can keep a count of how many cars we can expect and as we get closer to the date, we will have more information on the web site regarding this.
The Official Hotel is The Terrace Hotel, which overlooks Lake Mirror. The other host hotel, which is where most have stayed in the past, is the Hyatt, next door to the Lakeland Civic Center. It is within 5 minutes of walking to the downtown area. Their official website has all the needed information regarding hotels, parking, (yes they even have trailer parking for those that need).
We hope you will put this on your calendar of events to attend this year and we look forward to seeing as many current, former and those that have just purchased a Galaxie or looking to buy one. So pass the word to anyone that you know that still has, had, or wants to own a Galaxie.
