Welcome to Galaxieland.Com
Galaxieland started in the beginning as Galaxieland Southeast. Back then we were the 7th chapter of the FORD GALAXIE CLUB OF AMERICA to be formed.

The planning began in 1998, as my car was nearing its 7th year of restoration and nearing completion. In early 1999 a new Galaxie Owner, came looking for and found me at my job, as a service writer at a local car dealership, because he needed a jack for his recently acquired 63 Galaxie 500 XL convertible. What began was a friendship that would lead us to Old Town Sat Night Cruise in early spring of 2000, where the idea of a local chapter of a national club began.

We began to inquire with the FGCOA as how to get a chapter started. The other 6 chapters of this 17 year old national club covered from the Midwest to the west and northwest as well as the northeast of the USA, but none were in the southeastern USA.

In June of 2000 we began contacting other FGCOA members in our area about starting our own chapter in the east. Within the next year it was finalized with our first meet held November 2001. With 34 Galaxie owners signing up at that very first regional meet Galaxieland Southeast was underway. Because no other chapter existed in the east, we blanketed all the southeastern states and contacted members from every southeastern state for our next national meet.

Mailers and phone calls went out to every FGCOA member listed on the national club registry. It worked. We began getting interest from club members from all over the southeast, even some whom had let their national membership expire mainly due to lack of east coast participation.

Not long after that, another chapter, Carolina Galaxies, was formed. Once they began we diminished the circulation, that far for our event information. As our 5th year began, we realized our "blanket" name of Galaxieland Southeast could be "smothering" the possibility of more chapters forming, especially, in our OWN state. The decision was made in a forward motion, to improve FGCOA chapter organization in the southeast, to drop the Southeast name from our chapter title. Now, we are simply known as Galaxieland. Some of our original members are still in our chapter, since they began here, as being members of their new chapters. With the "blanket" lifted, in 2006, a third chapter was formed in the southeast, Atlanta Galaxies.

We, here at Galaxieland, are proud to be part of a growing NATIONAL car club.  Because we try to get together as a chapter twice a year for an "official regional" meet somewhere, this makes it an absolute joy, to look forward to our next event and each time we do, we meet a new national member and get to see a different car or two as we expand throughout the year. Not to mention the friends you make and then look forward to seeing them again as well. Even at a small car show, some where, in some town, when you see a Galaxie, it is only natural to think to yourself, "Do I know those people?", "Who’s Galaxie is THIS?" , " I have never seen that car before!".

You have to be a true Galaxie lover, to understand this. For those of you, who have just purchased a GALAXIE or LTD or are looking at one and thinking about it, check out a chapter in your area.

You can find them at our national club website, www.galaxieclub.com. We eventually, will have that information linked here. If there is not a chapter in your area, then think about forming one. You and for the most parts, your family, will enjoy the events and people as well. You do not know what you are missing. We will be placing photos of the beginning of our chapter on this page, in the near future. Please visit us again here and thank you for visiting Galaxieland.
